Inferno EGT Gauge

Description

The Inferno EGT meter combines the convenient mounting and packing of a conventional analog meter with the latest microprocessor based digital technology. Fitting into a standard 2 1/16" hole this meter offers a digital simultaneous display of Two Type K EGT inputs. Even though it is small in size the high contrast wide temperature range LCD makes it easy to read even at a glance. In low light or nighttime situations eight (8) high intensity LED's provide a bright and evenly lit backlight. In addition to the dual temperature display, the Inferno also provides a peak hold and a real time data-logging feature. These features allow the user to capture either peak readings or continuous data over a given run so that the data can be played back in real time after the run.
All these features are controlled be a toggle switch that can be mounted on your instrument panel. To simplify function selection, the LCD has custom enunciators that tell the user what mode the meter is in as each function is selected.

Operation

Normal Mode - Under normal operation the meter continuously displays both EGT channels. If one or both of the channels goes above a preset EGT limit the appropriate channel(s) will flash. The factory default setting is 1250°F (675°C) but can be changed by in 50°F increments by the user. Also in normal operation mode the peak EGT readings are stored. The peak memory is automatically reset when power is reset.

Logging Mode - The meter can be set to record data in a high speed sampling mode for a 30 second interval is triggered when one of the pushbutton's is pressed and will continue until the 30 second period expires. The data can be played back in real time and is kept in nonvolatile memory until the user clears the memory or begins a new run. During a data logged run, all display functions are operable so that if a reading goes too high, it can be monitored and the run stopped.
